Coffee vending machines
WAACS creates new market opportunities by translating consumer insights it finds into concrete product ideas. Together with clients we set up Idea Card sessions to create new concepts, and arrange a time line for future product developments: from quick wins to future visions for the coffee industry. We have successfully applied this method to a variety of projects, for example the development of Etna professional coffee machines.
For Etna’s Dorado we talked with the facility specialists who manage coffee machines and who decide on the purchasing. That meant a shift of focus to: easier management (no hassle), better fit in the environment, and more neutral design with possibilities for own design and identity. The functions of the machine were made clear without explanation. Improving usability and understanding the needs of people who are using the machines.
A revolutionair coffee machine design
WAACS has worked a lot on coffee machine design since we designed the Senseo together with Sara Lee/DE for Philips. The Senseo coffee machine design both reinvigorated the consumer market and increased profit margins. New life was breathed into the standard coffee brewing process in millions of kitchens worldwide, surpassing all expectations. Senseo became a true revolution in the coffee industry.
Hospitality and office accessories
EMSA insulation jugs continue to rank among the top selling in Europe. With the previous success of our likeable and accessible household design, Mambo, EMSA challenged us to design a classy and exclusive vacuum jug, Elea, for the high-end hospitality industry. A perfect opportunity for us to push the limits of the WAACS versatility what resulted in a price winning design.
For Douwe Egberts WAACS developed the cross selling business coffee and tea service. A serie equally at home in the CEO’s meeting room as on the factory floor.
